Service Description: This U.S. EPA Region 9 web service contains 609 point features for the abandoned uranium mines on or within one mile of the Navajo Nation. There are 523 mine claims, consisting of the 609 mine sites and 1,265 mine features, such as waste piles and mine openings. This service contains the following map layers: Abandoned Uranium Mines, Priority Mines, Tronox Mines, Trust Mines, Mines with Enforcement Actions, Superfund AUM Regions, Navajo Nation Administrative Boundaries, and Chapter Houses. Mine points have a maximum scale of 1:125,000, while Mine polygons have a minimum scale of 1:125,000. Chapter houses have a minimum scale of 1:200,000. Full metadata records for each layer can be found by clicking the layer name at the web service endpoint and viewing the layer description.
